Post-Publication Discussion
Intechno Journal: Information Technology Journal encourages scholarly discussion and constructive feedback on articles after publication to promote scientific transparency, research integrity, and the continuous development of knowledge in information technology. The journal welcomes comments, questions, and evidence-based critiques that contribute to the clarification, verification, or further development of published research.
1. Purpose of Post-Publication Discussion
Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for researchers, academics, practitioners, and readers to engage critically with published articles. Such discussions may address methodological approaches, data interpretation, theoretical contributions, research limitations, reproducibility, or other issues relevant to the validity and significance of the published work.
All contributions must be scholarly, constructive, respectful, and supported by appropriate evidence or references.
2. Submission of Comments and Feedback
Readers who wish to comment on a published article may submit their comments or concerns to the editorial office at intechno@amikom.ac.id.
Submissions should include:
-
The title and citation or DOI of the article being discussed, where available.
-
A clear explanation of the issue, question, or argument being raised.
-
Supporting evidence, data, references, or methodological explanations, where applicable.
-
The name and institutional affiliation of the contributor, along with relevant contact information.
The editorial team will assess submitted comments to determine their relevance, scientific merit, clarity, and compliance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
3. Editorial Assessment
The editorial team may evaluate submitted comments and, where appropriate, consult independent experts or reviewers. The assessment will focus on the scientific validity of the discussion, the significance of the issues raised, and their relevance to the published article.
Comments that are unsupported, defamatory, offensive, misleading, or unrelated to the scholarly content may be declined. The journal reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, length, and compliance with editorial standards, provided that the substantive meaning is not altered without the contributor's agreement.
4. Authors' Right to Respond
When a comment raises substantive concerns about a published article, the original author or authors may be invited to provide a response. Authors are encouraged to address the issues objectively, clarify their methodology or findings, and provide additional evidence or references when necessary.
The editorial team may publish the comment and the authors' response together to facilitate a balanced and transparent scholarly exchange. The decision to publish either contribution will be based on editorial assessment and the journal's publication policies.
5. Corrections and Retractions
If a post-publication discussion identifies an error or concern that may affect the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of a published article, the editorial team will assess the available evidence and determine the appropriate course of action.
Depending on the findings, the journal may:
-
Publish a correction to address errors that do not invalidate the overall findings.
-
Publish an expression of concern when significant questions remain unresolved during an investigation.
-
Retract the article when the findings are demonstrated to be unreliable or when serious publication ethics violations are established.
-
Publish relevant comments and author responses to document the scholarly discussion.
All corrective actions will be handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and recognized standards for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
6. Ethical Standards and Responsibilities
Contributors must ensure that their comments are accurate, evidence-based, and presented in good faith. Personal attacks, harassment, deliberate misrepresentation, and the disclosure of confidential information without appropriate authorization are not acceptable.
Authors responding to comments must engage professionally and provide truthful explanations. Editors are responsible for ensuring that post-publication discussions are handled impartially and that all parties are given a fair opportunity to address substantive concerns.
7. Transparency and Accessibility
Post-publication discussions accepted by the journal may be published and made openly accessible to readers, subject to editorial approval and applicable ethical requirements. Where appropriate, comments, author responses, and related editorial notices will be linked to the original article to maintain a transparent scholarly record.
